This is for my comrades fighting the sad beige army. For those thirsting for a drop of fun in this desert of generic IKEA art. When, Lord, when will we be free of the drab aesthetic plaguing our homes?
I stand here today, humbled by the weight of the task before us, yet knowing that this struggle belongs not to me alone, but to all who have looked upon the sad greige walls of a thousand forgettable rooms and said: no. Not here. Not us. Not today.
We must splatter the bland scourge with eye watering color. With cartoon art whose boldness can never be bridled. Who am I to lead you into this battle?
Behold a man bombarded with so much children’s advertising in the early stages of his cognitive development that his aesthetic sense was stunted before it even passed from the pre attentive process. Forged in the children’s cereal aisle, my predilection for the empty calories of lowbrow art, new school tattoos and pop surrealism could not be resisted. However, my wit and humour allowed me to enrich my art with so many ironic minerals and hilarious nutrients it has propagated into a hearty feast.
Witness the bourgeoning cornucopia of kustomocity in the gallery below.
